About Ali Muhammad
Ali Muhammad is the Lead Building Permit Consultant at U2E Design & Build Inc., a Guelph-based permit design firm serving the Greater Toronto Area and Southwestern Ontario. He has prepared and managed more than 350 building permit applications — residential and commercial — including legal basement apartments and secondary suites, home additions, decks and porches, garages and accessory structures, interior alterations, and retail, office and restaurant fit-outs.
Ali manages each project personally, from the first site visit to the issued permit: zoning and feasibility review, architectural permit drawings prepared to the Ontario Building Code, coordination with structural and mechanical engineers, municipal submission, and responses to every plans-examiner comment. He brings more than two decades of experience delivering complex technical projects to this work — and it shows in complete, well-documented applications that move through municipal review with fewer resubmissions.

Ali spent more than twenty years delivering technical projects — as IT Manager and Senior Software Developer at Yamaha, then as a developer, senior professional services developer and technical solutions consultant for Bloomberg / Innosphere in Guelph. That work trained the habits his permit clients rely on: precise documentation, clear specifications and methodical problem-solving.

At U2E Design & Build Inc., Ali turned that discipline to Ontario building permits — preparing architectural permit drawings, reviewing projects against the Ontario Building Code and municipal zoning by-laws, and managing submissions with building departments across the GTA and Southwestern Ontario.
